Burmese Cats are a medium size breed with a well muscled, medium length body. The coat is short, close-lying and very glossy, of satin-like texture, making it a very easy to groom.  As the Burmese is in fact a pointed breed, in all colours the underparts are slightly lighter that the back.

Burmese Cats come in a variety of colors:

Seal- the original Burmese color, a rich warm seal brown.

Blue- a soft blue-gray with a silver sheen.

Lilac- a pale delicate dove gray with a pinkish cast. Red-tangerine.

Cream- cream with a distinct bloom on the head and back, giving a powdered effect.

Brown tortie- brown with shades of red. Blue tortie - Blue with shades of cream.

Chocolate tortie- Chocolate with shades of red.

Lilac tortie- lilac with shades of cream.

Temperament

They are more intelligent and affectionate than many cats.  They have a reputation of being the most lively and energetic of pets and are known for there love of people, especially children which makes them an ideal family pet as they get along well with other pets.
